Valencia pushed for Sissoko in the summer after his poor first season in North London, but the switch failed to materialise on deadline-day in Spain.

Sissoko, 28, struggled last term after pushing for a move away from Newcastle all summer, following their relegation to the Championship.

The former Magpie started eight Premier League game last season and looked to be on his way out of White Hart Lane.

But things have started turn his way this season and the midfielder has started to show why Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino shelled out £30m for him in 2016.

However, his recent upturn in form has not deterred Valancia from having another go at landing Sissoko in January.

If Valencia make a huge offer, then Poch and Daniel Levy will have a decision to make about whether to keep Sissoko, or cash in knowing they have other midfield options to cover his potential exit.
