PSG star Thomas Meunier reveals he turned down a deadline day move to Chelsea
Says Belgian defender: 'I didn't know what to think - was I going to remain on the subs' bench all the time?'
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN star Thomas Meunier has revealed he turned down a deadline day move to Chelsea.
Blues boss Antonio Conte hoped to land the Belgium international right-back, who also interests Tottenham and Manchester United.
Meunier joined PSG from Club Brugge in 2016.
He lost his first-choice status when the French giants signed Barcelona and Brazil legend Dani Alves, 34, from Juventus in the summer.
Chelsea offered Meunier the prospect of linking up with national teammates Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Michy Batshuayi.
But the 26-year-old said he snubbed the eleventh-hour chance to join the Premier League champions as he wants to establish himself at the Parc des Princes.
