Sweden legend's former club won record 20th league title — and Red Devils ace was not about to miss to chance to celebrate
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC hilariously broke tradition to hand out the Swedish league title himself.
Never one to miss an opportunity to be the centre of attention, the injured Manchester United striker returned to his homeland to enjoy the title celebrations with former club Malmo.
But, not content with just watching the festivities, Ibrahimovic, 36, got right in the thick of them.
He walked right past Swedish FA chief Karl-Erik Nilsson, who was supposed to hand the trophy to Malmo skipper Markus Rosenberg, and decided to do the honour himself.
Ibrahimovic motioned to the former West Brom striker to come to the podium with him where his team-mates were waiting and proceeded to hand it over personally instead.
Rosenberg was clearly not upset by the turn of events, revealing after the match: "Of course it's special to receive the trophy from him.
"He's an icon for the club and Swedish football."
Malmo were celebrating a record 20th title, which they clinched after finishing the season with 64 points from 30 games.
Ibrahimovich started his career with the 1979 European Cup finalists, but left to join Ajax in 2001.
His appearance at the Swedbank Stadion meant he missed United's 1-0 defeat at Chelsea — though, he was ruled out anyway as he continues to recover from a serious knee injury.
Ibrahimovich has won league titles in Holland, Italy, Spain and France, but is still waiting for a maiden Premier League medal.
And, as United's charge faltered with a damaging defeat at Stamford Bridge, the iconic striker still ensured his got his hands on a fifth-different league trophy.
The Red Devils are now eight points behind a rampant Manchester City, with a first Premier League title victory since 2013 looking very far away.
