Everton want Norwich sensation James Maddison as Premier League clubs circle just months after his Championship debut
Midfielder takes advantage of injury to star man Alex Pritchard and has been hailed by Sunsport's Danny Higginbotham
NORWICH sensation James Maddison is on Everton's radar.
The 20-year-old midfielder is being tracked by Premier League clubs after his sudden emergence this season.
ESPN say the Toffees sent director of football Steve Walsh to watch the playmaker in Saturday's 2-1 Championship loss at Bolton.
Maddison hit the division's September goal of the month, a curling winner at high-fliers Middlesbrough.
And he has been nominated for the Championship's past two player of the month awards.
The mid-table Canaries are keen to extend his contract beyond its current end date of 2021.
But his form has not only won him an England Under-21 call-up, it has also drawn praise from Sunsport's Danny Higginbotham.
The Analyst picked out Maddison as one to watch - describing him as a "proper no10 who sees angles and can unlock defences".

Higginbotham added: "He is not particularly rapid but has the touch and class to put Norwich’s speedy players into dangerous positions with his through-balls.
"The opposition are now trying to target him, thinking if they can stop him, they stop Norwich.
"That is something he is going to have to deal with — but early signs are that he will cope admirably."
Yet Maddisno might not even be a first-team regular this season were it not for a pre-season ankle injury to last season's main man Alex Pritchard.
The Norwich attacking midfielder was ruled out for three months but now seems unlikely to return until Christmas.
