The 24-year-old has missed United's last 12 matches which has impacted the performance of Jose Mourinho's side.

But the club are growing confident that Pogba will be fit enough to make the squad following the international break.

United face Rafa Benitez's Newcastle on November 18 but it is unknown whether Pogba will be fit enough to make the matchday squad.

Boss Jose Mourinho doesn't want to rush the £89million signing back into action particularly with a hectic Christmas schedule.

The Mirror claim he wants to ensure Pogba is back to his best when they face their noisy neighbours at the beginning of December.

Mourinho's side are already eight points behind the league leaders and can't afford to lose anymore ground on the in-form side.

"They are in good positions so I think we can go into this part of the season, the Christmas period, and after, in a strong position."
