ARSENE WENGER has admitted he could manage at the Qatar 2022 World Cup as he discussed life after Arsenal.

The 68-year-old has been linked with both the England and France national jobs on numerous occasions throughout his distinguished career.

He has always remained at the Gunners, preferring the more hands-on action of club management.

But in an interview with beIN Sports he has admitted the lighter workload of being an international boss could benefit him as he gets older.

However, Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for the last 21 years and appears to have no interest in swapping the Emirates for a tilt at the World Cup just yet.

When quizzed on whether he can see himself in the dug-out at Qatar 2022, he said: "Maybe, you never know.

"I haven't decided that, to me it's just a fact that my life is linked with football.

"In what way will depend on my physical state. But until the end of my life I'll be in football.

"I don't know in what kind [of role], as a director, as a manager.

"As long as possible as a manager, but one day that will stop. But I will stay in football, of course."

The decision to award Qatar the tournament was met with criticism around the globe.

But Wenger believes that the Gulf nation will come up trumps and shock football fans by making a huge success of hosting the showpiece.

He added: "The quality of the stadiums and quality of the organisation and competition, you have no doubt because of the financial potential to do it well in Qatar.

"Certainly, they will have that pride to propose special stadiums and innovations, and on that front I’m convinced that they will surprise the world."

While the World Cup may be an option for him in the future, Wenger's more immediate focus is on the Premier League.

His side are preparing for the North London Derby on Saturday against bitter rivals Tottenham at the Emirates.
