Alberto Moreno arrives at Liverpool training in modest Hyundai while Kop team-mates show off BMW’s, Ranger Rovers and Porsches
Down-to-earth defender has been spending spare time trying to convince Philippe Coutinho to reject Barcelona advances
MODEST ALBERTO MORENO has snubbed the luxury motors his team-mates splash their millions on for a reliable Hyundai Santa Fe.
The Spanish Anfield full-back, famed for his crazy tattoos, has shunned the mega-money models from BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Range Rover for the £32,000 4v4.
The star in the reasonably-priced car has revealed he has been pleading with Barcelona target and team-mate Philippe Coutinho to stay at the club.
Moreno told the Mail: “He’s my friend and always will be and if it was down to me, I’d love him to stay close to me so I can go on enjoying watching him play football. It’s a privilege.
“Everyone asks me if he’s really that good, and in my opinion, he really is.
“I see him train every day and I see him do things with the ball that I have never seen before.
“He’s a big piece of this Liverpool team. Every fan who watches Liverpool and understands football can see it.
“They know that if he goes, it will leave a big hole. But we’re Liverpool. We have a great squad, great players and we won’t stop being Liverpool.”
JUR BACK Jurgen Klopp returns to Liverpool training after health scare…
Newly fit Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana reported for duty as they look set to feature this weekend against Southampton with Jurgen Klopp back to full fitness after a health scare.
Liverpool will be desperate to back up the 4-1 thumping of West Ham with a win against Mauricio Pellegrino's side.
That would make it three wins in a row for Klopp after the easy 3-0 triumph over Maribor in the Champions League.
The Anfield side currently occupy fifth spot in the Premier League, three points behind Chelsea.
Meanwhile, it has emerged Ivan Rakitic could leave Barcelona, if they sign Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian handed in a transfer request last summer but his move was blocked by Kop chiefs.
