But Wenger — in charge at Arsenal for 21 years — claims he would not be able to tell the truth if he wrote his memoirs while at the Gunners.

He said: “I don’t like to talk and not tell the truth.

“As long as you are in work, you cannot really tell what is going on. Just to sell a book?

“I have no interest. If it is to really say what I think about the game and what I think about some aspects of our game, I will do it but at the moment it is impossible.”

Wenger has yet to read Poch’s book but insisted it is only because he does not have the time.

He added: “I’ve nothing against it. I am open-minded.

“But I do not have much time in my schedule, not because it’s not interesting.

“I already have a good experience of managing.”

Poch’s style of management is very much youth-based. The Argentine called up a group of academy kids to train with the first team on Wednesday.

Pochettino said: “When we first arrived at the club, if 17 or 18-year-olds were training with the first team it was crazy.

“Now eight 16-year-olds train with the first team . . . that is fantastic.

“They are not close to the first team but it is a fantastic experience for them.

“We believe in English talent — and can build a good core with players coming through our academy.”
