Newcastle and Everton target Stefano Sturaro not close to leaving Juventus, according to his agent

Midfielder has been linked with the Premier League clubs after making just three appearances for the Serie A giants

JUVENTUS star Stefano Sturaro is not on the verge of a Premier League move, according to the player's agent.

Reports had suggested the midfielder could be on his way out of Juve in January after making just three appearances in a season hampered by injuries.

But his agent, Stefano Volpi, has confirmed their is interest in Sturaro, 24, but a move is not near to happening.

Volpi said: "It is a pleasure for Stefano to be sought after by Italy and abroad at every market session.

"In Premier, for example, attentions always come from teams like Everton and Newcastle.

“But honestly, everything is very premature, he is thinking of continue to do well to Juventus.

“And to do so, he wants to enter the third year of real membership of this club that brings you from being young to no longer be.

"His great peculiarity is not to suffer the competition, he tends to consider all of them as comrades and always try to give the most when he is employed.”

Manchester United were reportedly interested in Sturaro in the summer but Juve are commanding a fee of over £15million.

Stuararo made 21 appearances as Juve lifted the Serie A title and made it to the Champions League final last season.
