The 28-year-old nearly joined Chelsea from Palermo in 2011, but PSG’s new owners made a huge statement by landing the Argentine schemer ahead of the Premier League side for £35million.

The Argentine enjoyed a starring role for PSG initially, but as the Qatari owners started to spend even bigger to attract the world’s top talent, Pastore fell down the pecking order.

The former Palermo star has featured just nine times this season scoring three goals for the Ligue 1 leaders.

But has not been able to displace Adrien Rabiot, Marco Verratti or Angel Di Maria for a regular spot in midfield.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to make additions to the squad as they attempt to chase down runaway leaders Manchester City.

The La Liga outfit have tabled a £17m bid and feel the French side will accept the offer.

Sevilla are then confident the playmaker would choose to join them over the English sides as he could play and settle quicker in a Spanish-speaking country.
