According to the Mail, Sean Dyche could make a move for the former Middlesbrough graduate in January.
Jones played his way into the Northern Ireland squad for their World Cup play-offs against Switzerland, making his debut in the second leg.
He came on wearing the iconic No7 shirt - once worn by George Best - on a night of mixed emotions, as his country missed out on qualification despite a 0-0 draw.
Jones has eye-catching speed and trickery. He has made 19 starts for Steve Clarke's side this season, netting twice.

Middlesbrough-born Jones made his debut for his hometown club at just 19.

Jones had been at the Riverside for 14 years and being told he was no longer wanted hit him hard.
Jones recently told The Sun: "I was absolutely heartbroken when I left Middlesbrough.
“It was all I knew. I had been there for so long. I was really down for a while after it.
“But I said to myself I could either sit about and feel sorry for myself or go and make something for myself.
“Moving away has helped me. I had to mature. I made a few mistakes when I was younger.
“But I’m a totally different person now.
“I’ve learned the hard way, made the worst mistakes you can make. I’ve made them and I know I won’t do it again.”
