Carlos Tevez set to extend £650,000-a-week Shanghai Shenhua deal despite just four league goals
Argentine ace has netted just four times in 16 Chinese Super League games but he continues to strike it very rich
NICE work if you can get it!
Carlos Tevez looks set to sign a new deal £650,00-a-week deal with Shanghai Shenhua despite scoring only four goals in 16 league matches.
Former West Ham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus striker Tevez, 33, joined the Chinese Super League from Boca Juniors last December.
It would seem the move has hardly been a success.
In fact, Tevez was recently left out of the Shenhua squad for both legs of the Chinese FA Cup final victory over rivals Shanghai SIPG.
His current deal is worth £34million a year - and Shenhua deputy general manager Zhou Jun says it could be extended.

"And since there was an arms race going on [in the CSL], our club need a player who has a reputation and universal appeal.
"Of course, in the end, he is not living up to those expectations. But he keeps working very hard to be in contention to play.
"As for whether or not to extend his contract next year, it has to be a mutual choice.
"His future hinges on the outcome of further negotiations between the two parties."

Two weeks ago SunSport reported that Boca president Daniel Angelici has allegedly flown to China to convince Shanghai Shenhua to release the striker from his mega-money contract.
Angelici was apparently trying to convince the Chinese club to release Tevez on a free transfer.
That would mean Boca, who want him back, would avoid having to pay a £4million release clause.
