Arsenal ace Olivier Giroud admits frustration over lack of Premier League match action
France striker netted twice as sub in Wednesday's 5-0 win over Huddersfield and hopes to start against Man Utd on Saturday
OLIVIER GIROUD admits he is frustrated at his Arsenal fringe role and claims he "deserves" more of a chance.
The 31-year-old is tipped to start at home to Manchester United on Saturday after netting twice in Wednesday 5-0 win over Huddersfield as a second-half replacement for crocked fellow France striker Alexandre Lacazette.
Giroud's starts have been limited this season to the Gunners' Europa League and Carabao Cup teams.
But a Premier League door has been opened up as Lacazette is likely to be still out this weekend with a groin strain.
Asked if he finds his situation in the Prem frustrating, The Mail report Giroud as replying: "Yeah, because we are competitors and we want to play every single game to help the team win.
"We want to be on the pitch, we are all competitors so that is it.
The former Monteplier star, who has hit 29 goals in 69 internationals, has netted five times for Arsenal this term despite his limited opportunities.
And he is clearly not even sure boss Arsene Wenger sees him as his main back-up frontman.

On his hopes for starting against second-placed United, Giroud said: "We will see, I don't know.
"He has different options but I will get ready like all the other players."
Giroud believes Gunners' squad players who are flourishing in Europa League matches should get a Prem opportunity.
He said: "Yes, but at the moment the Premier League team is doing well.
"We have the chance to have two good teams because we have got a good squad and everyone tries to step up and give his best for the team.
"We are enjoying playing together in Europe but obviously we all want to play in the Premier League as well so when the boss wants to put us on the pitch we try to give our best and bring our small cog to the big machine."
Giroud does at least still has his nose in front of Lacazette in the battle for World Cup starting place next summer.
And Bayern Munich are the latest club to have been linked with him.
The Bundesliga champions have little cover behind deadly goal-getters Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller.
And reports in Germany linked Giroud with a move in January's transfer window.
But Giroud has previously said: "I am not questioning myself about my future.
"I am happy at Arsenal and I am fine with the decision to stay, because I want to.
