Antonio Conte to avoid touchline ban following FA charge after being sent to stands during Chelsea win over Swansea
ANTONIO Conte will not face a touchline ban for being sent off against Swansea on Wednesday.
The Chelsea boss was sent to the stands by referee Neil Swarbrick after taking his frustrations out on fourth official Lee Mason when he felt his side should have been awarded a corner.
Conte watched his side eventually win 1-0 against the Swans and will be fined £8,000 for his FA misconduct rap if he accepts the charge.
As a first-time offender, Conte will not be handed a touchline ban, but that could change if he gets into similar trouble again within 12 months.
Conte revealed after the win he apologised to both Mason and Swarbrick for his outburst at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "It's right to apologise for what happened during the game. During the game, in the first half, I saw that Swansea were wasting time.
