Manchester United ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic set for new starring role in biopic of his incredible life
Swedish striker has worked on a script with his biographer David Lagercrantz and will begin casting next year
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC is set for a new starring role in his own movie.
The Manchester United star has worked on a script with his biographer David Lagercrantz, and casting is due to begin next year.
Swedish ace Ibrahimovic, 36, returned to action last month after being sidelined since April with a knee injury.
But he spent some of the intervening time with Lagercrantz, who co-wrote his autobiography I Am Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2011.
The bestselling author, 55, said: "I can confirm that we are writing a script, and I think it can be very good.
"I have met Zlatan and discussed the project carefully. We are both very excited about this.

"But before we start with casting and everything we have to agree on the script, just as we did with the book.
"The story is a depiction of Zlatan's happiness. It is the American Dream in Swedish for the first time."

The movie is set to be made by the B-Reel Films production company and will portray Ibrahimovic's life from the age of nine.
Producer Fredrik Heinig said: "I can confirm that we worked on a script based on David and Zlatan's amazing book. But I can't say any more for the moment."
Ibrahimovic's biography has been published in over 30 countries, and sold 800,000 copies in Sweden alone.
The striker has made four appearances so far this season after scoring 28 goals in 46 United games last term.
His career has taken him from hometown club Malmo to Old Trafford via Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
