Arsenal starlets Eddie Nketiah, Matt Macey and Ben Sheaf sign new long-term deals

Gunners tie down three highly-rated youngsters as they look to bring through a new generation of talent to bolster the first team squad at the Emirates

ARSENAL have tied three of their best young players down to new long-term deals with the club.

Eddie Nketiah, Matt Macey and Ben Sheaf have all made their first team debuts for the Gunners this season.

And manager Arsene Wenger has been quick to reward all three with improved contracts as he looks to nurture a new generation of young talent.

Striker Nketiah has been tipped for a bright future at the Emirates and has already made four appearances for the first team this season.

The 18-year-old, who was once a schoolboy at Chelsea, has advanced through the academy system with the Gunners and is now regularly training with Wenger's players.

He has played in three Europa League matches and came off the bench to score twice to seal a 2-1 extra-time win over Norwich in the Carabao Cup.

Nketiah is also rated by the England system, having scored seven goals in six appearances for the under-19 side in 2017.

Goalkeeper Macey is another who is tipped to be around the first team squad over the next few years, and has played twice for Wenger this season.

The 23-year-old kept a clean sheet on his debut in the Europa League as Arsenal drew 0-0 with Red Star Belgrade.

Sheaf has been a player the Gunners have had high hopes for ever since they snapped him up from the West Ham system at the age of 14.

The midfielder, 19, made his first team debut by coming on as sub in the 1-0 win over Red Star in Belgrade in October.
