'NOT IDEAL'

Arsenal news: Arsene Wenger not happy with Arsenal ace Jack Wilshere after going ice skating

ARSENE WENGER has expressed his surprise and claimed it was "not ideal" that his injury-prone Arsenal star Jack Wilshere went ice skating.

The midfielder documented his family outing with wife Andriani and his two children Archie and Deliah on his social media account.

Along with a snap of the foursome, Wilshere wrote: "Positive week, managed to get through 20 minutes of ice skating without getting injured."

However, the trip was brought to his manager's attention today ahead of Thursday's Europa League match against BATE Borisov.

And the Gunners boss was not overly impressed to see Wilshere on ice given his poor injury record over recent years - especially while he is trying to win a new contract at the Emirates.

Wenger said: "It's not ideal, honestly, but for your balance it is not bad.

"For a footballer, I don't think it is great but it depends what you do.

"I don't know exactly [what he did on the ice]. You can do ice skating and make sure nothing happens. Ice skating violently, I don't think he did that."

ARSENAL VS BATE When is it, what TV channel and what is the team news?

Wilshere, 25, has started four of Arsenal's five matches in Europe this season and is likely to add to that against BATE.

He has suffered a huge succession of injury blows over the past couple of seasons but is now pushing for a regular spot back in Wenger's Premier League starting XI.

Reports emerged last week that Arsenal were ready to cash in on the England international next month instead of losing him on a free at the end of season when his deal expires.

And Wilshere himself admitted that he could be forced to leave North London in an attempt to gain more first-team action.

He said: "Of course I want to be playing.
