KYLE SCOTT has hit a stalemate with Chelsea over a new contract with Leicester City and Huddersfield looking to pounce.
The stylish 19-year-old midfielder was denied a loan move to Reading on deadline day as Chelsea struggled to tie down a deal for Danny Drinkwater.
Scott is still to make his Blues first-team bow but featured for the under-21’s in the impressive 4-0 Checkatrade trophy win at MK Dons earlier this month.
The Cobham academy product was on the bench for the opening two Premier League games of the campaign and the League Cup win at home to Everton.
Scott has 18 months left on his current deal and Chelsea are keen for him to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer of 2019.
SunSport understands finances are not the issue, but the teenager feels he is at a junction in his career where he needs to be playing regular first-team football to aid his development.
