Manchester United fans react as Luke Shaw puts in another man of the match performance in the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Bournemouth

COULD Luke Shaw finally be snatching victory from the jaws of defeat at Manchester United?

The left-back scored another man of the match award in the victory over Bournemouth - his second accolade in two starts AND got a standing ovation.

He was replaced on 83 minutes for Ashley Young, but impressed again for a Red Devils side that put in a flat performance with a narrow victory over the Cherries.

The former Southampton man has had something of a resurgence in recent weeks - that's partly down to Mourinho deeming he is ready to play and partly because United are desperate for a left footer on the left flank.

While Young has been fantastic this season, there is no doubt he was exposed against Manchester City as a pretend defender.

Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus - who switched places - managed to get behind the former Watford and Aston Villa man at regular intervals and created some big chances.

Mourinho said: "I'm not saying first or second, I'm saying an option.

"People sometimes forget his history, his history is a hard history with an incredible injury and after that another surgery at the end of last season.

"So difficult for him to have conditions to play in competitive matches, but we managed to give him this match and we managed to give him also the Champions League match against CSKA.

"Of course difficult for him at the end with some cramps, we needed to change him for the last 10 minutes.

"But it's good with the standing ovation. I like it, it only helps the player."

And Twitter reacted with some favourable feedback for the player, here are the best of the tweets...
