Andre Villas-Boas tipped for Paris St-Germain job if Ligue 1 leaders cannot get Jose Mourinho at fourth attempt
CHELSEA and Tottenham flop Andre Villas-Boas is wanted by Paris St-Germain, according to reports.
Unai Emery is in the Paris hot seat – while AVB is out of work – but Arab News claims PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has asked to be kept informed of the Portuguese’s plans.
Henrique and AVB won the league, cup and Europa League treble together at Porto in 2011 and are still close friends who holiday together with their families.
PSG are already running away with Ligue 1, with a nine-point lead ahead of Lyon, Monaco and Marseille.
But club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is reportedly a long-time admirer of the 40-year-old Jose Mourinho protégé.
AVB almost took over the club in 2013 when Carlo Ancelotti left for Real Madrid but he remained loyal to Tottenham, who later sacked him.
PSG were ready and willing to pay the £10million release clause in his contract but he stuck with Spurs for his second season.
After that deal failed to happen, Villas-Boas said: “With Nasser, we have respect for each other.

“That PSG approached me was released (publicly), but I wanted to stay a second year in Tottenham, building on the work of last season, making two consecutive seasons in the same club for the first time in my career. I wanted to continue the project here.”
Since Oryx Qatar Sports Investments took control of PSG in the summer of 2011, Mourinho has rejected the opportunity to manage them on at least three occasions.

The closest he came to accepting the glamorous job was in 2016 before eventually agreeing terms with Manchester United.
AVB could be the stop-gap boss while Mourinho works at Old Trafford and he has a big commitment coming up that is his main focus.
Villas-Boas is racing in the Dakar Rally after being registered as Ruben Faria’s co-driver for the 15-day event, which begins in Peru on January 6.
