Jose Mourinho is a huge Ozil fan from their time together at Real Madrid and he would be a perfect replacement for Old Trafford outcast Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

And Wenger has revealed he has no clue if a deal is close to being sealed for his star playmaker to join one of their most bitter rivals.

On Ozil and Sanchez possibly leaving in January, Wenger said: “They will all stay.

“It's very difficult for me to tell you as I will analyse every case individually.

“My wish and my desire is that everybody stays.

“If you come in and tell me 'I will offer you this for this player' I will tell you yes or no."

But on the Ozil to United speculation he was much less clear.

When asked how far along in talks the midfielder and United were, he said: "How close? I don't know how close.

“We have never been approached by Man United anyway so I don't see why that came up.

“That is something that has been created. [He'll stay] until the end of the season, the rest is open.”

Wenger also revealed he is ready for showdown talks with Jack Wilshere after Christmas which will explain his future.

Wenger said: “I will talk to him at the end of December but I wanted to see how much he can contribute and how he  will last physically.

“For him to be happy here is important and I consider him an Arsenal man."
