SWANNING OFF

Renato Sanches could leave Swansea in January as Bayern Munich discuss ending loan deal early

SWANSEA could be about to cut their losses on flop Renato Sanches.

His signing was heralded as a major coup by the Welsh outfit in the summer - but it couldn't have gone much worse.

Sanches has failed to score in 10 appearances for the Swans this season as the side have plummeted to the bottom of the Premier League.

Now his season-long loan from Bayern Munich could be terminated, according to Portuguese news-site Mais Futbol.

Big things were expected of the 20-year-old Portuguese international when he joined up with the Welsh outfit in the summer on loan from Bayern.

But like many of his team-mates, Sanches has struggled this season.

His time of woe was summed up in Swansea's game against Chelsea recently when Sanches passed to and advertising hoarding.

The on-loan Bayern Munich man picked up the ball in the centre circle, looked up, and passed off to his left.

The only problem was there was no team-mate there, and the ball rolled out and hit the hoarding displaying the Carabao logo.

We can only presume the red colouring around the design of the bull confused Sanches into thinking it was a team-mate.

But nonetheless, it left his manager Paul Clement seething on the sidelines.

Things were about to get even worse for Sanches however.

He was hauled off at half-time as Swansea were then tied at 0-0 with the Premier League high-fliers.

They went on to lose the game 1-0 as Antonio Rudiger netted the winner.
