Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admits he’s open to bringing in more players in January when transfer window opens

The Red Devils manager refuses to rule out bringing in any new additions in the winter transfer market next month

JOSE MOURINHO has refused to rule out strengthening his Manchester United side in January.

And while the 54-year-old admitted he's not a fan of the winter transfer window, he revealed he would be open to bringing in new additions.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference before United face West Brom, he said: "I'm not a big defender of the January market but there are players and situations that sometimes you have the chance to do and you shouldn't lose that chance.

"I don't like the January market just to buy. But if you can buy one you would buy in June, with the chance a few months before, then great."

United continue to be linked with Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, while they could look to nab Arsenal star Mesut Ozil in a cut-price deal.

And Mourinho will be boosted by the news that target Antoine Griezmann will be allowed to leave Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone confirmed the French international is free to leave the Wanda Metropolitano, leaving Barcelona and United to vie for his signature.

When asked specifically about Griezmann, the Red Devils boss said: "I don't speak about players, especially players who belong to other clubs."

In a blow for Mourinho, he has been rocked by the news that star defender Eric Bailly has been ruled out of action for three months with an ankle injury.

United face the Baggies on Sunday, where they could potentially trail rivals Manchester City by a whopping 14 points.
