"The ideal moment is yet to come."

Liverpool and Arsenal were in a head-to-head battle in an attempt to secure Luan's signature after a deal with Spartak Moscow fell through last summer.

But the Premier League clubs were snubbed when the striker, labelled as the 'new Ronaldinho', signed a new contract with the Brazilian club.

Jurgen Klopp reportedly offered £26million for the £30m-rated player after sending scouts to watch him.

Transfer talk for Luan will be put on hold as he prepares to enhance his already sparkling reputation when Gremio battle it out to be named the finest club on the planet.

The young star fill face off with who he believes is the best in the business - Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said: "Well, Cristiano is an amazing player, not only inside the pitch, but also off it. He's a role model, an example.

"He's the best in the world. I'm excited to play against him in the final."

Luan has been tipped to be his country's next superstar after helping Brazil to the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics with goals in the quarter final, semi final and a converted penalty in the gold medal match shootout.
