Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho lining-up £30million swoop for Brazilian star Malcom in the January window
Portuguese chief has been desperate to add some attacking width, with the left-footed Bordeaux star a prime candidate
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is lining-up a £30million swoop for Brazilian star Malcom in the January transfer window.
The Portuguese chief, 54, has been desperate to add some attacking width, with the left-footed Bordeaux star a prime candidate.
United are set to be handed a whopping £80m kitty in January in order to make a second-half of the season push.
Now Malcom, 20, appears to be the No1 target - with his attacking versatility crucial.
So far this season, Mourinho has been forced to play Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford on the left - both of whom prefer to play centrally.
Meanwhile, another right-footer, Ashley Young, has been deployed at left-back.
Malcom's genuine ability to play out wide is a major selling-point, with the Bordeaux star set to be the subject of more interest from United.
When quizzed about Man United’s interest in May, Malcom revealed: “Even when I was at Corinthians these rumours were already happening.

"I have a calm mind about that, I have a focused thought on the pitch and I leave it to my agent and my family to take care of.
"Then, who knows, if a bid comes up I’ll think of leaving, but now I’ll just playing football."

Capable of playing anywhere across attacking midfield ranks, Malcom has already racked up seven goals and four assists in 17 Ligue 1 games this season.
The Brazilian joined Bordeaux from Corinthians in 2015 - and could already be on the way to United, with Mourinho revealing he could be persuaded to push some deals this winter.
The Special One claimed: “I’m not a big defender of the January market, but there are players and situations that sometimes you have the chance to do and you shouldn’t lose the chance.
“If you can buy in January a player you would buy in June, July, and you have the chance to get him a few months before, then great.”
