CRISTIANO RONALDO hasd dealt Manchester United fans a blow with the news that he hopes to retire at Real Madrid - and that Zinedine Zidane wants to keep him there.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has once again proved in 2017 that he is arguably the best player in the world.
After scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Gremino in the club world cup final the Portugal captain dedicated his future to Los blancos
He said: "If possible, I would like to retire here, but it does not depend on me, because I'm not the boss of the club. We'll see."
When asked about Ronaldo's future Madrid boss Zidane said: "For us, it is fundamental that Cristiano stays all his life.
"He is in his club, in his house and what he has done, no one else is going to do it. So I hope he continues like this until his retirement."
Zidane, who has impressed in his first two years as Madrid coach, clearly wishes for Ronaldo to stay in the capital.
