Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United to battle it out for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey

ARSENAL will battle with Chelsea and Manchester United to land Leon Bailey in January.

Bailey has taken the Bundesliga by storm scoring seven goals in the Germany this season.

The 20-year-old only joined Leverkusen in January from Genk, but has already established himself as a crucial member of Heiko Herrlich’s squad.

The winger underlined his importance by coming off the bench to bag a brace as Leverkusen drew 4-4 at Hannover on Sunday.

Leverkusen are in the mix for the Champions League places and Bailey’s contribution has alerted a host of Premier League outfits, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Clubs from Spain and Italy are closely monitoring Bailey, however it looked like Chelsea were in pole-position to bag the speedy Jamaican next month.

Bailey has a contract with Leverkusen until 2022, but if he wants the lowdown on liufe in the Premier League, he can call on his pal, Manchester City star Raheem Sterling.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is looking to add to his squad in January as the race for the top four gathers pace.

However, Arsene Wenger is looking to wrap up a deal next month tabling an initial £15million bid.

With the prospect of losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the next six months, Wenger thinks Bailey would be an ideal capture to appease the Gunners faithful.

Manchester United are also monitoring his situation but look to be behind their Premier League rivals for the exciting attacker who has become one of the hottest prospects in European football.
