Nemanja Matic arrives at Manchester United training in red Mini despite being 6ft 4inch tall… as Romelu Lukaku turns up in a luxury Rolls Royce worth £230,000 more

Towering Serb turned up to training in his modest £20,000 motor as team-mate Romelu Lukaku drove his luxury Rolls Royce worth £230,000 more

MODEST Nemanja Matic squeezed himself into a red Mini on route to training as team-mate Romelu Lukaku had heads turning in his customised Rolls Royce.

Despite standing 6ft 4in tall, the down-to-earth Serbian, who pockets over six figures a week, was forced to crane his neck so he could drive the £20,000 Mini Cooper.

Team-mate Lukaku arrived at United's Carrington training complex in comfort driving his luxury motor... worth £230,000 more than Matic's.

The Belgian striker recently spent a small fortune spray-painting his Rolls Royce into the famous colours of the Red Devils.

Lukaku's motor was white with a black hood before the transformation but decided to have it black all over with striking red spray paint.

His striker partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic went for comfort over style driving a blue Volvo while Phil Jones had his wife drive him into training in a flashy silver Bentley.

United's first-team players are under increasing pressure to get a result against Leicester on Saturday after a humiliating last minute defeat to Championship high-flyers Bristol City.

Jose Mourinho's men were heavy favourites to progress to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday but were outfought against Lee Johnson's men.

The Portuguese boss may be forced to ring in the changes following United's cup exit but one man definitely missing out will be Antonio Valencia.

Arguably one of United's most consistent performers this year, the right-back could be sidelined for the entirety of the Christmas period with a hamstring problem.

Marouane Fellaini, Eric Bailly and Michael Carrick are all out of the match against the Foxes as they look to close the 11-point gap on table toppers Manchester City.

Speaking ahead of the game at the Kingpower Stadium, Mourinho said: "Valencia is out as you know. Eric Bailly is having surgery right now, or is just finishing or is still there.

"Fellaini is not available. I don't know (over festive period). Michael Carrick, no. But not for the Christmas period."
