Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet concedes three goals to Arsenal in six minutes as fans line up online to slate him

Goalkeeper had a shocker between the sticks during game against Arsenal at the Emirates on Friday night

SIMON MIGNOLET has been slated by football fans on Twitter after conceding three goals in five minutes against Arsenal.

The Liverpool goalkeeper was arguably at fault for all three efforts, which were Arsenal’s first real chances of the game.

Jurgen Klopp’s men had been 2-0 up after 52 minutes before Alexis Sanchez pulled one back a minute later.

Granit Xhaka then scored a screamer from distance in the 56th minute before Mesut Ozil chipped over Mignolet to put Arsenal ahead two minutes after.

The Belgian shot-stopper is regarded as one of the more error-prone goalies in the Premier League.

But not even die-hard viewers could believe what they were witnessing as three shots on target for Arsenal resulted in three goals.

One noted: “Mignolet is trash. Absolute garbage. De Gea makes those saves easily. That second goal was right at him.

One final tweet read: “Xhaka needs to buy Mignolet a pint after this. Absolute mare for the first goal but let off by that clanger earlier.”

Speaking on Sky Sports, former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher said: "The goalkeeper has to do more.

"I’ve questioned Mignolet for a long time, it’s situations like this in pressure games.

"There’s some movement on the ball but you have to do better than that. It’s shocking from the goalkeeper.

"Until they get a keeper of decent quality they won’t challenge the top sides.

"You look at who Pep Guardiola signed and Ederson has made as much of a difference as anyone."
