Arsene Wenger looking to get some early January business under his belt with shock move for highly-rated centre-back
ARSENAL are reportedly close to signing Greek wonderkid Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Gazzetta.gr claims the 20-year-old centre-back is in London and set to join from PAS Giannina in a deal worth £2.2million.
Arsene Wenger has clearly been impressed by Mavropanos, who has scored three goals this season.
His team are 10th in the Greek first division, and Mavropanos is rated as one of the most promising youngsters in the country.
However, the prodigy is unlikely to feature for Arsenal this season.
It’s believed he will be loaned to German side Werder Bremen for the remainder of the campaign.
