Aston Villa vs Peterborough team news: John Terry given green light to return by boss Steve Bruce
Chelsea legend set to start FA Cup third round clash after missing ten matches with a broken bone in his foot
ASTON VILLA boss Steve Bruce has given John Terry the green light to return today after ten games on the sidelines.
The former Chelsea and England star, 37, is set to start against Peterborough on Saturday.
It will be his first game since breaking a bone in his foot two months ago.
Bruce, who will take charge of his 850th game, said: “Even the great John Terry needs a game.
“He’s been on schedule and on our minds.
“It was a fracture so you have to go by scans and how he feels but he’s trained and we think he’s right.
“In his own mind, he’s right.
“This is the ideal game for him and we’re delighted to see him back.

“He was playing very, very well before the injury so let’s hope he can get back there again.”
Bruce says today’s team will be a mix of youth and experience.

The Villa boss added: “I am telling the supporters now that four or five young ones will play because they could be the future of the club.”
Bruce has found himself under-pressure at Villa Park over recent weeks.
His side’s erratic form looked like it could cost them promotion.
However, an upsurge in performances either side of the New Year has helped to lift the gloom.
Villa have produced back-to-back wins over two of their promotion rivals to move up into fifth and just five points off automatic promotion.
They follow victory at Middlesbrough last Saturday by thrashing Bristol City 5-0 at home on Monday.
