Liverpool ‘will not sign new goalkeeper this month’ despite Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius continued errors

Klopp has not made his mind up about who is his first choice keeper and has rotated the pair since Karius arrived in 2016 and the German keeper was at fault for Leroy Sane strike before half time on Sunday

LIVERPOOL will not be signing a new goalkeeper this month.

Boss Jurgen Klopp is unsure who is his main man in goal rotating Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius all season.

Karius was given the nod ahead Mignolet for the thrilling win against Manchester City and yet again fail to convince.

The 24-year-old German was at fault for City’s equaliser just before half time allowing Sane’s strike to pass him on his near post.

The Reds have money to spend, but feel there are no suitable targets available, according to the Daily Mail.

Klopp has been chopping and changing between the pair since Karius arrived from Mainz in 2016 and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is not impressed with the situation.

Carragher said on Sky Sports: “Four shots on target, three goals, It feels like when you watch Liverpool during these big games, the actual shots on target that they concede never seems that many.

“How often does a Liverpool goalkeeper make a save that you don’t expect him to make?

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is easily beaten at his near post by Manchester City’s Leroy Sane

“Like when something happens and they save the team? That very rarely happens.”

He continued: “Before the game, if you’d have said Manchester City were going to have four shots on target all game, Jurgen Klopp will have taken that, but that’s what happened today , and they’ve scored three goals.”

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to the Liberty Stadium next Monday to face Swansea.
