It has been reported the Blues have contacted the Hammers over a potential move for the 6ft 4in striker.

It’s believed West Ham are seeking roughly £20million for their man, after signing him from Liverpool for £15m in 2013.

Injuries have troubled the 29-year-old at the London Stadium, and since signing for Irons he has scored 25 goals in 86 Premier League games.

Antonio Conte is determined to strengthen his side’s attacking threat, with Mitchy Batshuayi being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have already brought in Ross Barkley this January from Everton in a deal worth £15million.

Andy Carroll would provide competition for Alvaro Morata

Sun Bets spokesman Tim Reynolds said: “Andy Carroll emerging as a target initially came as a big shock to us.

“But having thought about it, a deal makes sense.

“Alvaro Morata is a quality player but has been off the boil recently and Antonio Conte will be desperate for there to be competition, to push the Spaniard on further.

“And if the Blues can sparingly use the striker and keep him fit, he could turn out to be a great signing.

“When Carroll is firing on all cylinders, he is unstoppable!”
