Kompany's latest injury is his 15th in just five years.
The star defender, who was arguably the Premier League's best centre-back a couple of years ago, has now missed 99 games since the start of 2012.
As SunSport revealed at the weekend, Guardiola has already identified Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld as the man to replace Kompany in the heart of the defence.
But Pep's fury with his actions while on Belgium duty could see him sell the defender sooner.
