Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set for full Liverpool debut against Leicester in Carabao Cup game
Since his £35m move from Arsenal to Merseyside, the England man has only appeared off the bench in three games
ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN is finally set to make his full debut for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup against Leicester.
After joining the Merseyside outfit from Arsenal for £35million on deadline day, Oxlade-Chamberlain has played only 57 minutes in three substitute appearances.
But the England man will finally get the chance to impress Red boss Jurgen Klopp from the off in the away cup tie.
Speaking to Press Association, Klopp said: "It is a fantastic opportunity for Alex because since he has been in it has been difficult to train on different things because of game after game after game.
"There is no rush but we are in this three-game-a-week rhythm and during the international break he was with the national team.
"But it is a long-term project so I have no problem. We sat together with him and the analysts and showed him how we want him to play in this position and that position.
"He had a wonderful impact when he came on in the last game (Saturday's 1-1 draw v Burnley) so it was very good for him."
Oxlade-Chamberlain will also be hoping to play in his coveted central midfield role, one of the reasons he is believed to have decided to leave Arsenal.
He also rejected a deadline-day switch to Chelsea as boss Antonio Conte wanted to utilise him as a wing-back.
But things are looking rosy off the pitch for the Southampton academy product as his romance with Little Mix girlfriend Perrie Edwards continues to blossom.
Chamberlain and Edwards went public with their relationship in January and it appears to be getting stronger by the day.
The former Arsenal man took to Instagram to upload an image of the pair alongside the caption: “I tell her she my bestie, bestie, she my bestie.”
