RICHARLISON scored a late injury-time equaliser for Watford as they came back from two goals down to secure a point at the Hawthorns.
West Brom had scored two goals in three minutes in the first half through Salomon Rondon and Jonny Evans along with Abdoulaye Doucoure pulling one back for Watford just before the break.
Tony Pulis’ side took the lead after 18 minutes when the recalled Salomon Rondon found the net at The Hawthorns for the first time since last December when he notched a hat trick against Swansea.
He was put clear by an excellent through ball from Grzegorz Krychowiak and Rondon barged his past Christian Kabasele. And he forced the ball home from a tight angle with keeper Heurelho Gomes slow to react.
Albion sensed more goals and they added a second from a Matt Phillips corner which was headed on by Abdoulye Doucoure.
Evans and Ahmed Hegazi bore down on goal but it was the Norhern Irishman who stooped to force the ball home from close range.
The season started in uncertain fashion for Evans who was wanted by Manchester City only for Albion to hold on to him.
Evans also scored in this fixture last year when Baggies won 3-1.
Albion had not managed more than two goals in a Premier League game this season.
And Hegazi could have made it three when he headed a Chris Brunt corner from close range.
It was a chance that went begging and it lifted Watford who came right back into it.
They should have pulled a goal back 10 minutes before the break when recalled skipper Troy Deeney fed Richarlison and he crossed for Andre Carillo who headed wide of an open goal.
But Hornets scored when Deeney headed on for Richarlison again and he supplied Doucoure who took the ball on 10 yards and whipped a low left foot shot past Dawson and Evans and into the bottom corner.
It wax turning into a thriller and Watford’s 2,700 fans thought their side had equalised in the 52nd minutes when Kieran Gibbs’ header only found Etienne Capoue whose left foot shot flew inches wide of the target.
Yet drama hit the Hawthorns in the 95th minute as Richarlison took his chance and scored a late equaliser for the hornets, leaving the baggies furious.
The result means Watford maintain their unbeaten record on the road this season.
