Alvaro Morata's representatives say he will "keep fighting" after Manchester United turned their attentions towards Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Spain.

The Real Madrid star was expected to put pen to paper with the Old Trafford club this summer, but he is now preparing to start pre-season with the Spanish giants.

Chelsea could make a move for the forward, after apparently missing out on their top summer signing Lukaku, but the 24-year-old's future is currently uncertain.

Man United couldn't agree on a price for the Real striker in three attempts, and Jose Mourinho turned his attentions elsewhere to ensure his side have a Zlatan Ibrahimovic replacement ahead of the new season, reports Football.London.

"We must keep fighting, as there's no alternative," is the comment coming from Morata's camp, according to Spanish publication Marca.

Despite wanting a move away from the Bernabeu, Morata is now going to have to bide his time and see if Chelsea make a move in wake of Lukaku's imminent switch to the Red Devils.

Morata previously said he will work under Antonio Conte at some point in his career, although he had his heart set on reuniting with Jose Mourinho after the manager had been in permanent contact with him over the summer.

Marca believe Morata will not be allowed to leave the club unless Chelsea make an offer that Real find acceptable.

With the 24-year-old now in limbo over his future, all he can do is keep fighting and hope Conte makes a move to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
